History

The Faculty of Biotechnology was founded in 1993 as the 9th School founded at Assumption University with the aim to produce graduates working in biotechnology and its related fields. The Faculty had started offering two 4-year bachelor’s programs in Agro-Industry and Food Technology with graduate’s degree in Food Biotechnology in collaboration with the University of California at Davis, USA. In the year of 2020, the new School’s name has been kindly appointed by the Rector Emeritus of Assumption University entitled, “Theophane Venard School of Biotechnology”. Currently, the School is gearing toward “Food Technology: A Way to Global Citizens” with the newly improved curriculum starting academic year of 2022.

All these years, we offer international programs in Biotechnology for whom that seek learning experience in an international atmosphere offering full range of scientific knowledge, practically work in-class and out-of-class activities, active learning with close relationship among lecturers and students, interdisciplinary of emerging science with entrepreneurial spirit devoted for research and industrialized development purposes.
